about

There is a place outside Richmond, VA called Elko Fields. During WWII, Elko was built as a perfect replica of the city of Richmond, to be lit up (while the real Richmond was shut down) in the event of an Axis bombing raid. This is the story of the ghosts who live there.

lyrics

You needed ghosts to serve and protect, take the fall for us
It's only the living that threaten these nights
Drawing our curtains and dimming the lights

Please just kill the lights

In the end we rise
Decades ago our purpose was defined
We live to die
One forgotten night as your city sleeps in darkness

New light illuminates our world
We rise from our beds and waltz through the distant dissonance
Your shrill warnings play our death march

In these your darkest nights
We are the light that shines
Illuminate your peace as our sister sleeps

A parade through our streets
Gather 'round the water tower
Hold our outstretched hands to the sky
You can watch as we die...
